Just For Fun!

True Story! lol

She learned to stamp on Monday
her embossing was quite fine.
She forgot to set out dinner....
so away out we went to dine.
She brayered backgrounds Tuesday
she says they are a must....
they really are quite lovely
but there was no time to dust.
On Wednesday it was birthday cards
she claims that chalking's fun
shading, blending and water-colouring
but the laundry wasn't done.
Her card swap was on Thursday
she had to use green, blue and red,
it was obvious she was really engrossed
when she failed to make the bed.
It was Shaker cards on Friday
using techniques that she just adores,
what a pity she then failed to notice
the crumbs dropped all over the floors.
I found a maid on Saturday!
My week is now complete
my wife can stamp her hours away
and the house will still be neat.
Well, already it is Sunday
and my forehead's feeling damp
cos I've cursed, and raved and ranted
for the Maid has learned to stamp!!

Chelsea Gardens Blog Hop

Hi there!  You should have arrived here from Amy Ulem's blog. Welcome to our Chelsea Gardens Blog Hop. We are a small group of Close To My Heart consultants that love to share our creations with you each month. This month we are focusing on our beautiful Chelsea Gardens collection. In this sweet collection you will find 12" x 12" scrapbooking papers, coordinating 12" x 12" card stock, five yards of cream ribbon, Dots & Gems bling, Complements, a Sending Hugs card making kit, a calendar stamp set, a Floral Tag stamp, a scrapbooking stamp set, a cardmaking stamp set with coordinating Thin Cuts dies, and then an optional card making project and a Picture My Life layout using our Memory Protectors. Whew!

For my project I chose to make a pretty card. Not sure about you, but I am always needing cards to send out. This card is easy and quick to replicate and you can simply stamp any verse in the inside when the occasion arises. I started off with one of our A2 card bases and a base layer from the Chelsea Gardens paper collection. All of the stamps I used are from our Chelsea Gardens Cardmaking Stamp Set. On the base layer I used one of our two foliage stamps, Toffee ink, and I made my own designer paper by randomly stamping the image all over the paper. From there I cut a small piece of our White Daisy card stock and stamped the butterfly twice, once on a small layer and again on a smaller scrap. Using our Watercolor Pencils and alcohol inside my small waterbrush I  colored and blended the butterfly. When the area was dry I used our clear Shimmer Brush over the image, and used the coordinating die. I then layered one butterfly over the other image, stamped my sentiment, and added a bow. I used our foam tape and adhered it off sides to the card base and then added three of our Gold Glitter Gems on the card front. I am ready to make a dozen or so of this sweet card to have on hand when needed later on.

I think I am the caboose for this blog hop. You will now be directed back to the start of the blog hop and check out what Carol Loftus has made today. I hope you have enjoyed our blog hop this month and thank you for stopping by. As mentioned, I am a Close To My Heart consultant. If you do not already have a personal consultant, I would be honored to help you.

Happy Stampin! ....Cheryl

Close To My Heart Stargazer

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! Tomorrow.....today is a new day! Time to wipe the 2017 slab clean and start fresh in 2018. I have been crafting tonight waiting on midnight so I could kiss my sweet husband Happy New Years and then go to bed. But he went to bed early tonight so I got out our new Seasonal Expressions and starting creating. FYI; Did you know this idea book is just $1.00 and available for purchase on my website? For my layout, I used our fabulous new Make It From Your Heart Volume 3. It is eighty-two pages showcasing thirty-six two page layouts and yummy scrapbook page templates to get your mo-jo juices flowing. For my layout I used the template found on page eight and our new Stargazer Paper Packet and Stargazer Complements. I don't think I have ever completed a two page layout so quick.  The Canary 4"x 6" mat on the left will be my journaling area once I decide on which pictures I will use of my beautiful Grandson! All of the paper measurements and placements are shown in the templates. What could be any easier! BTW....I am slowly working on taking better pictures. I am a computer duhhhhhh! lol

I am an independent Close To My Heart Consultant. If you do not already have a consultant, I would love to help you in any way I can. You can contact me at my email which is cheryllarbo@aol.com (two L's)
Thank you for visiting my blog and Happy Scrappin!  Cheryl
