Close To My Heart "Silver & Gold" Blog Hop

Hi there! Thank you for hopping by to my blog. Each month we have a small group of Close To My Heart consultants that love to share their creations through their blogs. This month we are using our Silver & Gold collection. Today you should have arrived from Haley Dyer's blog and her amazing project she has created for you.

My project this month is a 12" x 12" layout. Our current Holiday Expressions Idea Book has two wonderful Christmas and winter paper collections along with several coordinating stamps and thin cuts dies designed for both card making and scrapbook layouts.  For my page this month I wanted lot's of snow on my page. Thankfully we don't get a lot of snow here in Texas, but it sure is a beautiful gift from God during the winter. I started with my snowbanks using our Glacier card stock and the set of Aspen Court templates from Kiwi Lane. From there I added a thick layer of our Liquid Glass along the snow slope edge and covered it with Diamond Dust that I purchased years ago at Hobby Lobby. I then took our White Daisy pigment reinker bottle and added several drops of the ink onto one of our 3"x 3" acrylix blocks along with 2-3 drops of water, mixing it well and then using one of our paintbrushes, I splattered the ink on both my snowbanks and my 12"x 12" base layer of Crystal Blue card stock. I LOVE our White Daisy pigment ink! I have had it along with my many other ink refills on my Workspace Wonder small tray and have never used it because of it being a pigment based ink and not a dye based ink. Just to remind you, a pigment ink is not a quick drying ink. Instead of being absorbed quickly into the paper, the ink sits on the paper surface and it takes an hour or so to dry or you can hit it with our Craft Heater, for a much faster drying time. I discovered how much I love this pigment ink when I made Halloween treats from my Grand using one of our Halloween images stamped on our Kraft Paper. The ink stayed so bright and white and I was sold using the ink. I rarely used white inks on projects because of the die ink fading into the card stock, but that is not a concern when using a pigment ink. I cut two trees using our CTMH Artistry Cricut Cartridge image #M412307, a sweet deer and holly leaves using our Silver & Gold Scrapbooking Stamp & Thin Cuts combo, the Beary Christmas Scrapbooking Stamp & Thin Cuts combo for the stamped saying on the layout and the gifts, I used both the I (Heart) Christmas and Ribbon Border thin cuts, one small red enamel gem for Rudolph's nose, some twine in my stash for his bow around his neck, and then lot's of Liquid Glass on the holly leaves, stars on the trees, the red ornaments on the trees, and the large heart. I used a  6 1/4" x 4 1/4" piece of our Silver & Gold paper collection for my photo mat.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my page today. You will now continue with Julie Scott and check out her projects designed for today's blog hop.

Wishing everyone a very Happy and safe Thanksgiving. If you currently do not have a Close To My Heart consultant and are looking for one, I would be honored to help you out. You can find me at my CTMH website

Have A Purr-fect Halloween!

Hi there! I am really enjoying playing with our Cats and Bats collection of papers, stamps, and coordinating dies. This is my second card I created this week and I am working on one more. So stay tuned! For this card I started off with an A2 size piece of White Daisy card stock and sponged layers and layers of Tangerine, Eggplant, Black, and Charcoal inks. I used Goldrush ink, masking paper, and our (retired) 1 1/4" circle punch to create the moon. Afterwards I splattered the layers of ink with a opaque white paint. From there I used the adorable stamps and dies in the Cats and Bats Cardmaking Stamp & Thin Cuts set and one stamp from the Cats and Bats Scrapbooking set. I used  our Emerald ink on the Halloween die cut. When my card was assembled and completed I didn't want to quit, so onto card three!

Also, I will be drawing the winner tonight for the Monstrous Halloween Stamp and Thin Cuts die set. My Grand is coming over after school to draw the lucky winner. Good luck everyone!

If you already do not have a Close To My Heart consultant, I would love your business! You can find me at

Close To My Heart Blog Hop

Welcome to our Blog Hop! If all of the links are working you should have arrived from Kathleen Androlewicz's blog. We are all mutual Close To My Heart consultants and are having fun this weekend showcasing our projects made from our two new collections; Cats and Bats and Falling For You. I created my top fold A2 card using our adorable Cats and Bats paper collection along with both of our Cats and Bats Cardmaking and scrapbooking stamps and thin cut dies. I thoroughly enjoyed creating this sweet, simple, and easy card. For my layout I used our Falling For You paper collection and our newest Make It From The Heart layout and pattern book. My inspiration is found on page page 37 using the top right layout. These books are a "must have" to get your creative juices flowing! Along with this book, I used our new Thankful For you Thin Cuts dies and our September "Feel So Blessed" Stamp Of The Month stamp set.

I hope you have enjoyed my two projects. As a bonus for visiting with me, I am giving away a Monstrous Halloween stamp and thin cuts die set.
To qualify, you must leave a comment on my blog. If your name is drawn, I will contact you for your mailing address. Next you will be visiting with Jen Armstrong and see what projects she has created.

Thank you for stopping by!

Penelope "Workshops Your Way" Scrapbooking Kit

Are you working on the Penelope "Workshops Your Way" kit this month? If so Close To My Heart has released four videos to help you with this. The first video is a quick visual showing the cutting guide. The second video goes over the layout assembly of all three two page layouts. Our third video shows how you can use your remaining workshop materials and a few extra supplies to make "eight" adorable cards. The fourth and final video shows how to make two complete pocket pages using all of your leftover papers and pictures, your Picture My Life cards, and any complements, Washi tape, or Puffies you may have left on hand. Our Workshops Your Way (WYW) Scrapbooking Kits are a great tool. The instructions for this kit are found quickly online.

The item number for this kit is ‪#‎G1106‬ at the cost of $26.95. This kit will be available until April 30, 2016.

Charlotte and Springtime Wishes

Can you  believe it? My scrapbook room is STILL clean? It has been around one month now since I finished cleaning it. There has been a lot of creating, but no mess left afterwards! Yay me! I am totally focused this time around in keeping things picked up and returned to where I found it. I spent just over three painful weeks, both days and nights of not crafting and only concentrating on getting the numerous piles off the floor and off my desk and Island where I play. My project now is to go through my Ikea Kallax shelving unit where I have eight of the sixteen cubicles designated for my 12x12 paper storage and get them tidy and organized. I have no clue on how to organize paper, but everyone seems to do it by colors. I have decided to start with sorting my papers by theme and then whatever is left over to sort by colors. I can already tell I have way too much beach and Christmas papers. I also have tons of page kits and paper collections that have never been opened or used! What a shame! Years ago I had an obsession with paper and bought and bought and bought every pretty paper I could find. Most of the paper was just too cute to cut. Not anymore! I will say I do not buy like this anymore. Being a Close To My Heart consultant has slowly taught me I don't need all of these other papers and collections to just sit and collect dust. I can enjoy looking at them yes but I stay plenty busy trying to use our paper collections, coordinating stamps and dies for my monthly classes and cards that I love making.

Last night around 2 am, when I should have gone to bed, I decided to make a project. I recently went to a weekend retreat and had a wild hair to make one of the projects a friend of mine made from an idea she found on Pinterest. (lane swerve! I am slowly learning how to use Pinterest. I just need to remember this valuable tool is out there. You can find such cute ideas online, but dang like Facebook, it will suck you in and you are left with TV dinners for supper! Anyway, when I should have either gone to bed or continued with my paper sorting, I thought I would play. This month CTMH is focusing on the Charlotte collection. Such pretty papers. A soothing collection of our Champagne, Slate, Sorbet, Whisper, Black, and White Daisy colors. I also used my Springtime Wishes stamp set and the coordinating Thin Cuts dies. Yes.....we now are carrying dies to match a few of our stamp sets. Can you believe ONLY $13.95 each? Whoever heard of such ridiculous prices for either a stamp or die set???  Just a note...our Charlotte papers will be retiring at the end of our current Seasonal Expressions idea book. Better stock up now! I used one of papers to make this mini tissue box holder. I just love how it turned out. Thank you Shirley for the inspiration! A few years ago for one of my DT, I created a regular full size tissue box. I know it is buried somewhere in my blog here. I will find the link and get it posted. Enjoy this cute tissue box!

Oh joy....Coordinating Stamp Sets & Thin Cuts Dies!!

Have you heard the news? Close To My Heart now has COORDINATING DIES for four of our "brand new" stamp sets in our "brand new" Seasonal Expressions! I ordered three of our coordinating stamp & die sets, but because of the Holiday's I just have not had time to play with them. This week I have been cleaning out and organizing my scrapbook room. It was a bad mistake to clean off my work station first instead of last. Once my desk was clean, I lost all of my motivation to continue cleaning and pulled out one of the sets and had fun playing. Oh man....I still am amazed that we now offer both the four coordinating dies and stamps sets and our five Cricut cartridges and fifteen coordinating stamp sets!

Please enjoy my first card I made today using our new "Spring Critters" stamp set, coordinating Thin Cuts dies, and our Zoe paper collection. I have also included a picture of the actual stamps and dies to drool over! lol I love these adorable critters and already have several sketches made to use them in other projects.

If you would like to own a set of these stamps and coordinating dies, I would love to order them for you. You may order directly from me at and your order will be delivered to your doorstep generally within seven days. Don't forget to click on the option of receiving a FREE copy of our new Seasonal Expressions with your order!
